Welcome
Thank you for taking a moment to read a little bit about me and this space.
You may have landed here to discover how yoga can fit into your personal wellness plan by starting or reconnecting with your practice.
You may be seeking restoration of function from an injury or a limiting diagnosis.
You may be transitioning from traditional physical therapy and looking for further knowledgeable guidance and accountability.
I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Registered Yoga Teacher who hopes to foster an alignment of these two practices with the intention of showing clients how valuable they are together.
MY SKILLS & APPROACH
Working for years with individuals experiencing a decline in function and mental well-being due to many complex symptoms, I am familiar with approaching multifaceted health challenges. Though my specialized physical therapy expertise in neurological and vestibular conditions and my yoga background, I teach about the deep connection between the brain, breath, and the body, which is often overlooked in the current healthcare climate. Understanding this connection and exploring the root of the issue are important for the path of healing and prevention. I prioritize personalized care, taking the time one-on-one to guide you toward greater awareness, alignment, and lasting well-being through movement & mindfulness.
Ascend’s intentional practice model allows for increased adaptation to your needs. I want to hear your story and assess you as a whole person to optimize your success and help you find your resilience. A secure patient portal is provided, which can be used for booking, private messaging between visits, and access to your relevant information. If you are seeking physical therapy, please note that I am an out-of-network provider for all insurances. More details are available on my pricing and FAQs pages.
PRIVATE OFFERINGS
Even when seeking group classes, beginning with a private session is recommended to provide you with a movement assessment and customized guidance from the start.
Individual sessions are available for therapeutic movement and interventions including physical therapy, yoga, wellness-based exercise, and meditation in a quiet, supportive environment.
Semi-private sessions (for two to six participants) provide a customized experience for you and a friend, family member, or small group with the benefit of sharing the cost of a private session.
CLASS OFFERINGS
With my practice design, I want to inspire all to believe they can engage in movement for wellness, no matter their limitations or skills.
Yoga classes are regularly in a small group setting and occasionally off-site to host larger interest. The schedule is updated monthly. Current available classes can be viewed on the booking site.
Ascend’s “All-Levels” class intention is to allow you to come for your first experience without intimidation or explore your established practice with cueing and guidance. These are typically floor-based, mat classes. Variations are always given to allow you the space to explore and adapt. Props are provided and use is encouraged. Chairs are available, however the class is not a chair-yoga class unless labeled as such.
Themed series are designed to create a more focused experience incorporating yoga philosophy and education, or to support a specific audience. Programming has included chair-assisted yoga for people with Parkinson’s and LoveYourBrain yoga for people following brain injury.
In addition to sharing yoga with this community, I am a trained instructor of “Tai Ji Quan: Moving for Better Balance”, which is an evidenced-based program designed to improve balance and reduce fall risk using traditional Tai Chi principles. Introduction to the practice of Tai Ji Quan is offered as a series or available to integrate into private or semi-private sessions. The full 6-month program may be offered periodically.
Classes designed for events can be arranged for your friends, family, or work group in your space or mine. This also includes educational presentations on balance, fall risk reduction, and nervous system regulation. Contact to discuss details.

COMMUNITY CONNECTION
Ascend LLC is a member of the Lake Sunapee Region Chamber of Commerce.
I have lived in the New London, NH area since 2013. I am also currently an outpatient and inpatient physical therapist at New London Hospital and prior to that was at Dartmouth Hitchcock, and the VNA of Vermont & New Hampshire. I initially put down my PT roots at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. I have lead yoga at various yoga & fitness establishments in this area. I enjoy this community and all it has to offer, and I am grateful to share it with my husband and my young son. I look forward to getting to know you!
